The HUFS Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence successfully concluded a distinguished lecture series featuring an international scholar, covering topics ranging from Europe’s democratic transformation to global organizational behavior.
The lecture series was delivered by Dr. Evelina Savickaitė-Kazlauskė, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Management at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. During her week-long visit, Professor Savickaitė-Kazlauskė conducted a total of four lectures, sharing her expertise with approximately 380 HUFS students.
The series featured a diverse range of topics spanning Lithuania’s historical and political development as well as contemporary trends in global management. The first lecture, titled “The Role of European Belonging in Lithuania’s Democracy Transformation: Work in Progress,” explored the significance of European identity in Lithuania’s democratic transition.
The second lecture, held in Room 1211 of the Humanities Building, focused on “Democratic Resilience in Lithuania: The Steep Climb from Soviet Rule to Europe.” The presentation provided an in-depth examination of Lithuania’s journey from Soviet rule to its successful consolidation of democracy as a member of the European Union, drawing strong interest and engagement from students.
The final stage of the program consisted of two consecutive lectures held in Room 601 of the Humanities Building under the theme “Survive or Thrive: Positive Organisational Behaviour in a Global World.” During these sessions, Professor Savickaitė-Kazlauskė presented practical management paradigms that enable organizations and individuals to achieve sustainable growth in a rapidly changing global business environment, adding further academic depth to the program.
A total of 380 students participated in the lecture series, gaining valuable insights into Lithuania’s experience of overcoming the legacy of Soviet rule and achieving successful democratization and economic development. The program also provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of both European political transformation and contemporary trends in global management studies.
The HUFS Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence will continue to organize academic events featuring distinguished scholars from leading universities around the world. Through these initiatives, the Centre aims to expand opportunities for students to develop a broader understanding of global policy trends and major international issues from diverse perspectives.
