On Tuesday, May 20th, at 3 PM, the EU Centre (Director Kim Si-hong) invited former Korean Ambassador to the EU Kim Hyoung Zhin to give a special lecture on the topic of “Prospect of Korea-EU Relations: Korean Viewpoints” in the Jeon Seongcheol Lecture Room of the main building.
Ambassador Kim, a diplomat who served as Director of the North American Affairs Bureau, Deputy Secretary, Director of the Policy Planning Office, Secretary to the President for Foreign Affairs, and Deputy Director of the National Security Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided a valuable opportunity to share his insight and experience in all areas of diplomacy. In particular, he emphasized that the atmosphere in which bilateral relations are taken for granted should be improved and that a strategic partnership based on values should be further developed.
Through this special lecture, students were able to understand various aspects of international relations, identify various waves that Korean diplomacy must overcome, and seek alternatives. Through Q&A, it was an opportunity to establish perspectives on life as a diplomat, Korea’s international status, and the restoration of a rules-based international order.
