HUFS Jean Monnet EU Centre (Director Kim Si-hong) held an international conference on July 15th at 5 PM in Matthew Lee Hall, Room 203, on the Seoul Campus, invitining European scholars to discuss the topic .
The event was a forum for the European scholars visiting Korea in conjunction with the 2025 World Political Science Congress (IPSA) to discuss shared interests between Korea and Europe, particularly focusing on the international security environment raised since the emergence of the second Trump administration, trade wars, and changes in global supply chains. It also examined the implications of the European Union and its member states Indo-Pacific strategies, assessing the possibilities for cooperation with Korea.
Key attendees included Emilia Gatto, the Italian Ambassador to Korea, Lorenzo Termini (European University Institute of Florence), Tereza Novotna (Free University of Berlin), Giulia Terkovich (Free University of Brussels, Belgium), Flavia Lucenti (LUISS University, Italy), Boglarka Koller (Ludovika University, Hungary), Ignacio Molina (Free University of Madrid, Spain), Paula Ramos Gonzales (Loyola University, Spain), and Anna Ferenci from National Donghwa University, Taiwan. The next World Political Science Congress is scheduled to be held at LUISS University in Rome, Italy, in 2027.
