On Thursday, March 13, the EU Centre (Director Kim Si-hong) invited Dr. Eric Balbach of the German Institute for International and Security Studies to hold a seminar on “The Indo-Pacific Interregum and Security on the Korean Peninsula” in Room 203 of the Main Building of the Seoul Campus. Dr. Balbach, a strategist who advises the German Chancellor on Asian issues, pointed out the reality that Europe and the United States are actually transforming from alliances to hostile relations, and emphasised the need to prepare for such a situation. At the same time, he emphasised that these changes have great implications for the Korean Peninsula.The event was attended by Kim Bong-chul, President of the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies, Kang Yoo-duk, Director of the Institute for European Studies, and students from the Graduate School of International and Area Studies.
