On Friday, May 24 at 1 p.m., the EU Center (Director Kim Sihong) invited Professor Jan Zielonka of the Department of European Politics at Oxford University in the U.K. to hold an international seminar on the topic of anti-liberal tendencies and rightward shifts in European politics.
Prof. Zielonka traced the trajectory of liberal political thought and ideology in Europe since the modern era, analyzing the emerging antiliberal phenomenon as identity politics and examining its significance by introducing the status quo, the return to the nation-state, and the dominance of big tech companies and China in future scenarios.
The event was moderated by Professor Kim Bongchul, and about 70 undergraduate and graduate students attended and continued the lively discussion.
