EU-Korea Human Rights & Democratic Transition Dialogue Programme – International Conference co-organized by HUFS-HRI EU Centre, Hanns Seidel Foundation, Database Center for North Korean Human Rights, North Korea Intellectual Solidarity and People for Successful Corean Reunification took place on November 18th, at HUFS.
The conferences was divided into two main sessions; the morning sessions covered topics concentrated on the European experiences with human rights violations and democratic transitions, whereas during the afternoon session scholars presented and discussed topics oriented on Korean experience with human rights violations and integration of defectors and democratic transitions.
After the sessions the speakers took part in the round table discussion where they answered questions from the public. The conference was very popular among academics as well as broader public as the awareness of human rights issues has risen in recent years.
