On December 23 (Mon), the EU Center (Director Kim Sihong) invited a delegation from the European Parliament to hold an international seminar on the theme of Korea–EU Relations Navigating Uncharted Waters in the conference room on the 11th floor of the university headquarters on the Seoul campus.
The international seminar was attended by Kim Sihong, Director of the EU Center, Professor Kim Bongchul, and Researcher Shin Euichan of the Institute of the European Union, in the presence of aides and researchers of the visiting delegation of the European Parliament at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and Sohn Hyewon, Secretary of the Korean Mission to the EU. At a time when Europe’s innovative position is threatened by the US–China strategic conflict, an in-depth roundtable discussion was held on how the ROK and the European Union can work together, and a consensus was reached that bilateral cooperation as like-minded countries is important not only for security and defense but also for economic security in the high-tech sector, especially at a time when the rules-based international order and free trade are under threat.
