On Friday, January 19th, the EU Centre and the Institute of EU Studies held the 5th Youth Forum at Sangyeonjae near City Hall Station (Jung-gu, Seoul). Sponsored by the NRF, the event was co-hosted by the EU Centre and the Institute of EU Studies, HSSI, KSCES, and EURAXESS Korea.
The EU Youth Forum, which consists of university (graduate) students interested in Europe and is held for the purpose of discovering future generations of academics, became a particularly meaningful event in its 5th edition due to the active participation of students from both campuses of the university. The panel for the first part of the forum was the Humanities and Social Research Project Group, while the panel for the second part consisted of undergraduates.
The first session featured various and extensive studies exploring implications and measures related to European countries’ politics, economy, society, environment, and institutions. This was followed by the second session, which consisted of three different themes. Students presented on trends in the EU and the international community, including “European Diversity and Integrity,” “EU’s Immigration and Refugee Policy,” and “EU & ESG.”
After the presentations, discussions were conducted accordingly, leading to the conclusion that the forum highlighted new perspectives and innovative attempts by the next generation of academics.
