On May 16 (Tue), a seminar was held in the conference room at HUFS, inviting Chung HaeJo, former president of the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies, to present and discuss the theme of “New Paradigm for Global and Area Studies: The Case of European Studies in Korea.” In the seminar, they agreed that European studies should foster the next generation of academics by attempting projects through discovering new topics, pointing out that government support is weak compared to emerging regions in that it is a study of advanced regions.
