Seminar on European Semiconductor Industry Trends

HUFS Jean Monnet EU Centre hosted a seminar on Wednesday, 24 September at 3:00 PM in Room 106 of the International Building, featuring Professor Cho Kyung-soon of the Division of Semiconductor and Electronic Engineering of the university. The seminar addressed the current state of Europe's semiconductor industry and Korea-EU cooperation. Professor Cho emphasised that, based on the competitiveness of Korea's semiconductor industry, there exists potential for cooperation with European nations. He particularly stressed the need to observe the trajectory of the semiconductor industry from the perspectives of supply chain restructuring and economic security, and to consider policy measures that could transform this into a shared benefit.

The seminar was significant in that it represented an attempt at interdisciplinary research extending from the centre's core humanities and social sciences activities into the fields of natural sciences and engineering.
