On 20 May (Friday), HUFS JMCE and Jeju Peace Institute cohosted a joint academic conference
on the topic of “The New Government’s Diplomacy and Europe: Cooperation and Prospect” ,
in the grand conference room of the JPI.
At the event, former Korea National Diplomatic Academy President, Dukmin Yun, currently Korean Ambassador to Japan, did the keynote speech on the security and diplomatic policies of the new government, followed by the presentation of the ambassador of international relations of Jeju, Soo-seok Lim on Korea-EU relations, the presentation of professor of diplomacy and politics Mooseong Lee (MyongJi University) on the Korean peninsula, the presentation of professor, Yoo-duk Kang (HUFS) on international economy and trade and the presentation of professor at JPI Ki-eun Lee on the Russia-Ukraine war.
In the conclusive discussion, JPI head Haeyong Lee and researcher Seongchul Jung led a
designated discussion and every participant actively exchanged questions and answers. Moreover, in-depth opinions were suggested about one of the 110 major government tasks
“collaborative prosperity network building in territories”, the enforcement of the Hub countries’ role, and the possibility of collaboration with Europe in the active economy security diplomatic procedure.
